Job Title:  Dock Clerk

 

Pay Range:  $20,000 - $30,000

 

Reporting To:   Director of Shipping & Receiving

 

Number of People Supervised: None

 

Job Summary:  Load and unload materials as they are shipped and received.  Manage packages as they arrive and are prepared for departure.  Maintain a safe and secure environment for all processed packages.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.  Stack and catalog materials as they are shipped in and out.

 

2.  Load outgoing packages.

 

3.  Unload incoming packages.

 

4.  Maintain a safe and secure dock area.

 

5.  Notify appropriate departments of all incoming packages.

 

6.  Verify that shipping data is correct on incoming and outgoing packages.

 

7.  Keep records of all shipping and receiving activities.

 

8.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

1.  Physical agility, strength and stamina.

 

2.  Communication skills.

 

3.  Detail oriented.

 

4.  Good working knowledge of warehouse and dock procedures

Tools and Equipment used:  Communications equipment:  Computer printouts, Computer and peripherals, software (word processing, data base), telephone.  Shipping and receiving equipment:  labelers, tape guns, scales, etc.
