3 Proficient

• Selection of site is based on research (minimum of two sources are included and correctly cited)
• Selection of site is clearly explained - student(s) can defend choice orally
• Directions and any government requirements/restrictions for traveling to the site are accurate and clearly explained.
• Map shows African continent drawn to scale
• Countries are correctly placed and labeled
• Outline of Nubia is accurate and easily distinguishable from modern African nations
• Key locations of ancient Nubia are included in the map
• Map includes an informative, neatly drawn legend
• Proposal is free of errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Map is “publishable” (no smudges, torn edges, messy corrections)
