4 Exemplary

• Criteria for Proficient have been successfully completed
• Timeline is exceptionally detailed
• Timeline contains a parallel timeline of key Egyptian events and people from the same time period

3 Proficient

•  Timeline includes a minimum of 12 key events and 6 key people from the history of ancient Nubia
• Each event or person has a brief, yet informative and historically accurate caption
• Timeline includes at least 9 labeled and historically authentic illustrations
• Timeline is free of spelling or grammar errors
• Timeline is “publishable” (no smudges, torn edges, messy corrections)

2 Progressing

•  Timeline has at least 9 key events and 3 key people from the history of ancient Nubia
• Captions could use more information
• Illustrations and/or captions may have some historical inaccuracies
• May contain 1-2 spelling and/or grammar errors
• Timeline has some visible corrections
• More work is needed

1 Not Yet Meeting the Standards

• Timeline has less than 9 key events and/or less than 4 people from the history of ancient Nubia
• Captions contain little information
• Illustrations and/or captions are not historically accurate
• Timeline contains more than 3 spelling and/or grammar errors
• Timeline is not “publishable”
• Task should be repeated
