Technology is a passion which began a decade ago. Through the years, I've gained experience and expertise working with CTAP and SCORE, developing technology-integrated curricula web sites and presenting staff development programs. I participated in these programs as a way to gain technology skills and experience.

At a certain point in my professional teaching career, I made a conscious decision to reinvent myself from a social studies and visual arts teacher to a technology coordinator or consultant. It seems that every 8-10 years, I go through a major career change that has always turned out to be a growth opportunity.

As I pursued the technology program possibilities, I found a very bleak landscape. The programs that sounded exciting were too far away to attend and very expensive. I also knew that teaching full-time and attending a traditional grad school program full-time would probably overwhelm me.

I am a great believer in synchronicity and the power of a higher force. As I mulled over my dilemma about finding a grad program, an e-mail came across from CTAP Region 3. The e-mail stated that an innovative educational technology program was in the planning stages at California State University, Sacramento. I immediately called and found that no one knew what I was talking about!
