Introduction
Welcome to our Landscapes Unit. This semester long high school project is divided into 10 elemental units. Each unit can be completed in approximately 2 weeks and were developed with 10th grade students in mind (although the units work well 7-12). The units are designed for cooperative learning groups but can be used with individual students as an enrichment component.
Space...This unit focuses on space, an infinite entity. Through knowledge of the past and present and predictions of the future regarding space exploration, students will become more aware of the universe around them. Students will be introduced to the origins of Astronomy and the important figures who developed space theory. Students identify and understand points of view from the discovery of the solar system to our modern beliefs in Astronomy.
