Below is a list of assignments that are due for each day. All students must register at MyClass.net in order to use the chat facilities and/or check for information concerning this course. Mr. Nugent will guide you through the sigup process....check with him. You can email Mr. Klug (rklug@gusd.com) or Ms. Bertolucci (dhutchins@gusd.com) for further clarification. Day 1: Since you have been introduced to the philosophies of Ptolemy and Aristarchus, research the internet to find brief biographies on each. Be sure to site the URL's. Register at MyClass.net and then login to the Landscape class and download the template document. This template will be used in all your notetaking sessions. How did beliefs start to change from a Geocentric System to a Heliocentric System? Be prepared to share your information at our next class meeting.
Day 2: As we further investigate the beginnings of Astronomy, we have now been exposed to Copernicus and Brahe philosophies. How did Brahe's observations of the planets become the most stringent test of the theories of Copernicus and Ptolemy? Your written response should be 3 4 paragraphs citing any sources. Be prepared to share your results at our next class.
Day 3: In your assigned groups (groups and their members are posted at MyClass.net) research and describe in detail the following: Group 1: Kepler's 1st Law Check the resource page for information concering Kepler. Be prepared to discuss your findings at our next class.
