Landscapes From Terra Firma to Terra Forming
Integrated, Interdisciplinary Unit, Interaction with the Earth and Beyond

These units were developed to integrate history, mathematics, technology and physics at a tenth grade level. The first unit, Space, will take two weeks to complete with student groups presenting their completed projects to their peers.

Purpose:
This unit is important because it focuses on space, an infinite entity. Through knowledge of the past and present and predictions of the future regarding space exploration, students will become more aware of the universe around them. Students will be introduced to the origins of Astronomy and the important figures who developed space theory. Students identify and understand points of view from the discovery of the solar system to our modern beliefs in Astronomy.

Timeline:
This lesson was designed to take place over a two week period.
