Assignment

We will begin our first Tapped In session by all gathering in JoyceED's (case sensitive) office. After some bantering, we will check in and you will then join your group facilitator's office. The time keeper will ensure that every one in the group has time to share and the recorder will take notes and prepare a brief summary of your discussion. Faculty members will join your meetings briefly. Please continue as normal unless you have questions or need assistance. The schedule is as follows:

8:00 - 8:10     Sign in > Gather in JoyceED > Greet and Banter
8:10 - 8:20     Check in
8:20 - 9:00     Join your recorder's office and begin discussion
9:00 - 9:15     Break - recorder finalizes summary and posts on
9:15 - 9:30     Gather in JoyceED and share group summaries
9:30                End of class

Discussion Objectives
Each group should discuss the following questions during the discussion time.
  1. Are 'multiple intelligences' currently addressed by the curricula used at your school (or workplace)?
  2. How might Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences be incorporated into your classroom or workplace?
  3. What are some advantages and disadvantages of using Gardner's multiple intelligences approach in your school or workplace?

Groups and Roles:

  • Facilitator: keeps the group on the topic, and helps to ensure that all member have a chance to be a part of the discussion.
  • Timekeeper: must keep the group on time and aids the facilitator in ensuring that all members have a chance to take part in the discussion.
  • Recorder: hosts the meeting in their Tapped In office, takes notes during the discussion and prepares the summary.
  • Checker: makes sure that all group members understand the concepts and the group's conclusions.
  • Goojf: get out of jail free: must participate but has no assigned task.
