Circular Themes in Tuck Everlasting

This project-based learning technology unit was our submission to the ED's Oasis contest.  Developed by Andrew Goff (Webmaster, Science Activity, and Discussion Board), Yvonne Bowman (Poetry Activity), Katherine Hoff (Timeline and Critical Thinking Activities), and myself (Debate Activity and Powerpoint), we collaborated strictly through the Tapped In environment, shared lessons using TaskStream, and sent numerous emails.  I am personally very proud of this unit as I feel it demonstrates the collaborative effort to put forth a quality piece of work.

One of the projects that we did during the Fall 2000 semester was to demonstrate our competency at integrating technology applications.  This artifact represents the integration of the database as both a management and an instructional tool and was presented as a staff development workshop to technology using educators in Mono County. Databases: As Easy As 1, 2, 3!

Utilizing Concept Formation & Concept Mapping with Inspiration This PowerPoint presentation was presented during the Fall 2000 semester by Joe Herz (Researcher), Chris Clark (Questionaire), Kevin Baker (Primary Presenter), and myself (Powerpoint).  It represents the blending of the instructional strategy Concept Formation with the mind mapping software Inspiration.  Upon seeing the strategy introduced in class, we immediately saw the connection and we have captured it's essence in this artifact.

The "Number Patterns: Simple to Complex" PowerPoint demonstrates our understanding of the strategy of Concept Attainment.  Doug Floyd, a Math teacher at Galt High School, was instrumental in developing challenging number patterns.  Emily Dunnagen, Matt Rowland, and myself worked on designing a PowerPoint that flowed and conveyed the patterns reflecting the strategy.  Chris Watson was key to initiating the idea and presenting the material to our colleagues.

This web page was presented online during the Spring 2001 semester as part of the Education for a Democratic, Pluralistic Society taught by Duane Campbell.  As part of my current assignment, I coordinate the CTAP Program for Mono County.  Duane suggested that I put together an overview of the CTAP program for my classmates.  CTAP offers many services to schools and districts to help overcome the digital divide throughout California.
