Technology Camp Date Set
 
Kindergarten through fifth grade teachers are invited to attend “Technology Camp”, at Melissa Ridge Elementary School June 7-11. This hands-on program will cover:
 
· Windows XP and file management basics
· Using desktop publishing to support and enhance your curriculum and improve parent communications.
· Making PowerPoint presentations and designing student projects that use multimedia
· Using database projects as a critical thinking tool
· Math investigations with Excel
· The “one computer classroom” model
· Considering multiple intelligences and cooperative learning when designing student projects that use technology
· Using the Internet and email for research, for finding curricular resources, and to develop collaborative students projects.
 
You get:
· A $400 stipend
· Software for your classroom
 
Follow Up Requirements:
· You will have one year to produce a portfolio showing how you have used your skills in each main area of tech camp (desktop publishing, multimedia, Internet, Spreadsheet, Database, Instructional Design/Management
