What's the USA Regions Project all about?

This project is for teachers who want their students to be able to master the new basic skills of the communication age, what noted futurist David Thornburg calls the three Cs: critical thinking, collaboration, and creative problem solving. It attempts improve on the traditional state report research project, to go beyond the collection and regurgitation of trivial pieces of information. In this project students will:

  • Work in cooperative teams to evaluate information and produce a multimedia presentation.

  • Acquire and use real data (warning! It will be "messier" than what they're used to getting from texts and encyclopedias! That's reality.)

  • Get a better sense of what it is like to live in a different part of the USA

  • Communicate with other students across the country

Why Not Just Do A Traditional State Report?
