The earliest civilizations
of mankind all have certain similarities. Five characteristics that
we use to define a civilization are:

A system of government (laws and
rulers)
-
A stable food supply (agriculture,
trade, and livestock)
-
Social levels (nobility, peasants,
etc.)
-
Specialization of labor (jobs
in the society)
-
A culture that includes art, architecture,
religion, and music
In this project you will be exploring
one of the most ancient civilizations:
-
Egypt
-
Mesopotamia
-
India
-
China
You will be put in a cultural
exploration group which will study one of the four civilizations.
Within your group you will serve as a specialist in one area of the civilization.
Your job will be to research that part of your assigned civilization and
work with your group to produce:
-
a research report
-
a poster
-
a computer assisted presentation
-
a website
Once you have been assigned your
group and your speciality you can proceed to the page for your civilization.
