..:HOME/ABSTRACT:..

My name is Cynthia Compéan;  this E-Portfolio represents a collection of the work I have completed during my Masters Degree in Education.  The concentration is Educational Technology.  My past education consists of a Bachelors Degree in Vocational Education, from California State University at Stanislaus.  I initially chose to pursue my Masters Degree with Cal State Sacramento  because of the flexibility of the program.  However, once immersed in the iMET program,  I was convinced I had made the right decision.   The Professors in the iMET program are the key to the success of the many graduate students.  The professors; Dr.  Bruce McVicker, Dr. Mike Menchaca, Dr. Mary-Ann Pomerleau and Mr. Larry Hannah, together with my fellow cohorts, helped to make a dream into a reality for me.

This portfolio is evidence of the growth and educational process in the Masters of Arts  Educational Technology program, at California State University, Sacramento.

This is the result of a culminating experience of the iMET program, This portfolio displays the professional and personal growth I have experienced.

The evidence is divided into 3 main sections:

PROCESS

The Process section of my portfolio is to demonstrate my knowledge of  technology skills and instructional strategies I learned through the Master of Arts in Education Technology program.  I have included my resume, professional work experience, and teaching experience.

PRODUCT

Four products that I created either with group members or solo.  The products or artifacts were developed during this course to demonstrate the skills needed to fulfill the goals and requirements of the iMET program.

SHOWCASE

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of project-based learning using informational technology.  Project-based learning provides students with the opportunity to collaborate, to come together to create a project, and/or to solve a problem.  Research demonstrates how the collective solving of problems, and the act of sharing ideas, of finding defensible compromises and conclusions, is in itself educative.
