Multicultural Project

This project explored multicultural issues.  We created a website titled Civil Rights featuring Rosa Parks and other Civil Rights leaders.  This website is complete with our lesson plan and many other links for teacher and student research.  I worked together on this project with Kathy Briggs, Terry Scott and Belinda Foster.  This was one of our first lesson plans that we worked together on.  We collaborated and worked on different areas, areas that we already had knowledge of.  Kathy was already a webmaster, so she created our first website.  This was a fun project and it is also complete with lesson plans, wonderfully interesting links, songs, poetry and more.  The lesson is linked to English standards and also includes NETS, National Education Technology Standards for students.

Project Based Learning

This project was developed as a curriculum requirement and involves project-based learning.  In this project, we created a website where teachers and students are able to research the holocaust.  This site includes lessons that can be used with or without technology.  Students will present their research in a Powerpoint presentation or poster and research paper. This project was created by Kathy Briggs, Terry Scott, Belinda Foster and myself.  In this lesson I created a tutorial for students and teachers to learn how to use Powerpoint.

Staff Development Project

This project was developed  during our Strategies for Applications & Presentations and Staff Development Classes. This was designed to help teachers and students create a published project utilizing a desktop publishing software..  In this project we combined modern technology and classic literature, so that teachers and students can research and create newsletters about William Shakespeare or Julius Caesar.  In this project I worked together with Loren Alldrin, Sharmaine Grove and Deborah Pulskamp.  This project was a lot of fun, and I really believe students will have great fun researching Shakespeare and creating newsletters on Publisher.  I created the Powerpoint tutorial on how to use Publisher and also helped to create our lesson on Taskstream.  Loren was our webmaster and he created the outstanding website.  Sharmaine is the English wizard of our team and created the fantastic English  Shakespearean lessons incorporating the classics and technology.  Deborah incorporated the lessons into a tutorial utilizing web plate templates and MAC operating systems.  Together we had a great time and I believe created a fantastic product that many teachers should utilize.

Web Quest

This project  was developed during our Problem Solving and Project Development Class.  A Webquest project was developed to help teachers and students prepare for the California High School Exit Exam, CAHSEE.  This project was developed by Terry Scott, who created the webquest, which takes you on a quest for information about the CAHSEE.  I worked together on this project with Terry Scott, Kathy Briggs, Terri Burke and Belinda Foster.  The research was completed by all members of our team and turned out to be an eye-opener.  This is a great website, that helps teachers understand the consequences of not meeting the requirements of the high school exit exam.
