Electric Motors

 

     Electric motors have been with us for over 165 years. Nearly every household appliance includes an electric motor. These ubiquitous devices take on various shapes and functions. They can make a smoothie in a blender, play music from a compact disk, or provide power to push a car. Our lives have been changed greatly due to the invention of the electric motor. The purpose of this lesson is to provide an opportunity for you to become familiar with the history and function of this remarkably simple device.
