. This web page will guide you through the process of taking a personality inventory and evaluating the results. The inventory you are about to take is modeled after the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. The American mother-daughter team, Myers and Briggs, built upon the theoretical foundation on personality types established by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung and created a practical application that measures psychological type. There are 16 personality types and every person fits into one of them. All personality types are equal, with inherent weaknesses and strengths. This inventory should be used as an instrument for self-exploration. By making an honest effort at self-discovery, you can learn how to focus your natural strengths and inclinations into a career you love.

First you must make a hard copy of the worksheet in order to reflect on your career choices and to keep a reference for future activities.

Take the test

While responding to the questions you may feel torn between how you are, how you want to be, and how you ought to be. This is typical. Just answer the questions as honestly as you can. After you complete the inventory, you will be assigned four letters that indicate your personality type. Record your type on the worksheet then come back to this site for part 2.

Evaluate the results

Just because you know your type does not change the fact that you are a unique individual. Remember that people of the same type as you have different genes and have lived in different environments. What you share with these individuals is what motivates and energizes you. The information you are about to read about your type is not an all-encompassing description of your innermost feelings. However, you should recognize much of your self in it. In other words, it should ring true.

Evaluate your letters on each of the three sites and list the given information on your worksheet.
