How do we teach students to find reliable resources on the Internet? This is a question many teachers ask themselves. In order to address the problem of students quoting just anything off the Internet, this WebQuest was born. The goal of this WebQuest is to take students through the process of finding valid resources on the Internet. Through the WebQuest the students first learn how to find reliable resources, and then the students are asked to teach other students how to do the same. Hopefully, teachers can use this WebQuest to help their students narrow down the endless array of Internet sites. The main objective is to devolop in students the ability to use critical thinking to find valid Internet sites that they can use at school as well as at home. This site was created for secondary students. Because the topic of web site validity crosses many subjects, this WebQuest crosses multiple subjects. By using the links to the left you can either go to the WebQuest itself (this is what the students will use), or you can go to the Teacher Tools link which will provide supplimental pages. These pages include modifications, standards, and assessments. |
