MAPPING SKILLS
In order to become a world class explorer you will need to understand where the different continents are located on the world map. You will also need to understand how to use longitude and latitude. Longitude and latitude were skills that 16th century travelers used to find their way through the world.
To accomplish this task you will need to print off the grid for an island you will plot using longitude and latitude. You will also need to print out the blank continent map used for identifying the major continents in the world. You will find the directions to plotting your own island below. Plot the island on the grid following the directions. After plotting your island put some trees, mountains, plant life, etc on your island. When you are done creating the island then go on to identifying the continents.
