2) Select your top five candidates for "Man of the Era"

 

3) Prepare a short biography on each of your five candidates, including:

5) Prepare a biography on your "Man of the Era", including:

• the information listed above in #3

• details of this person's achievements

• why this person made a difference in life during the Renaissance and today

• a picture (hand drawn) of the person -- this picture is to be drawn on the cover of your magazine

• illustrations (hand drawn) of this person's achievements

ALTERNATIVE CHOICE:

Select another person, not on the list of people, who lived during this time period. Follow the directions above.

 

6) Follow the directions found in "your magazine" to prepare your final project.

 

7) EXTRA CREDIT:

Notice that no women and few non-European men appear on the list. Why do you think this is? Write a short paper explaining the cultural conditions, both then and now, that you think led to this situation.

 

8) ADDITIONAL EXTRA CREDIT:

Design an advertisement for a product that might have been sold during the Renaissance. The information in your ad should be historically accurate , though you can be creative in the design. Put the ad on the back cover of your magazine.
