Practical Strategies and Applications

Want to get your students more excited about learning and engage them in the learning process? Infuse technology. Today's students are plugged into technology like never before. In fact our current students are the first generation weaned on the Internet. It is our responsibility to meet them where they are most comfortable and adjust our teaching strategies to meet the needs of these students. Like it or not, our students have changed and the biggest difference is found in the technology that surrounds their daily lives.

Adding technology to our teaching strategies makes sense for today 's learners. These strategies, however, need to be thoughtfully and carefully applied. It is not enough to merely sprinkle in the current gadget. Technology must be integrated into the curriculum by engaging the learner and enhancing their learning with rewarding experience. This website brings a balanced approach to infusing technology into the classroom in a workable way. The strategies and lessons presented here will be a launching pad for use of technology in a regular classroom setting with real life teachers, students, and the reality of limited access to computer technology.

The lessons on this site require some knowledge, by both teachers and students, of the following programs:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Publisher
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements

In order to accommodate those who may not have these skills, tutorials are included to facilitate learning these programs.

This website has been developed by a team of educators and business leaders who are pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Technology at California State University, Sacramento. We welcome and value all comments and suggestions:
