Our Task:
Mentor-mentee relationships are different than other relationships because
they are professional and they exist, for the most part, to further
the mentor's professional growth in an established profession. Non-mentoring
relationships can offer support but mentor/mentee relationships offer
support toward specific issues and goals that further the mentees professional
goals and status.
These mentoring relationships can take many forms, from casual and sporadic
to more formal and scheduled. In this mentoring process, we were challenged
to establish a formal mentoring relationship. Our task was to mentor
a mentee of our choice, in the aquisition of some form of technical
knowledge.
This site documents my experiences
with mentoring.
