285 Technology and Modern Practices


This course will focus on modern communications technology, terminology, educational practices, and instructional technology strategies. Emphasis will be placed on mentoring, management, and leadership.
Prerequisite: Graduate Standing (Courses is listed). 3 units.

This course functions as an introduction to the areas of the artistic, instructional, and educational possibilities of digital media and multimedia.  Specialized topics include operating systems, file formats, sampling, compression, and authoring.  This course explores the forms and aesthetics of media, digital workflow theories, and team building.

Digital media and multimedia delivery methods change constantly, especially with Emerging Mobile Technologies.  The “Building Blocks” (Text, Images, Animation, Audio, & Video) for good digital media and multimedia remain constant.  This course explores these in depth.
